What is a Community Navigator?

We know that juggling work, family life, and school can be daunting.  Deciding to go back to school is rarely easy: in addition to figuring out what kind of credential or degree to earn, where to earn it, and how to pay for it, adult learners often also need solutions for housing, child care, transportation and health care in order to make staying in school a viable option. Adult learners need someone in their corner, helping them to “navigate” the path toward their goals.  A MaineSpark Community Navigator is an education and career specialist. Tapping into statewide resources and utilizing up-to-date training, Navigators can assist and empowers adult learners to develop, pursue and persist along pathways for stable and rewarding employment.
